December 16, 2009 Item of the Day

Since I am new to blogging as a whole, I have decided that one of the easiest ways for me to get started in blogging would probably be to share an item of the day with all of my followers. My item for today would be a glass bead jewelry set.

This set is one of my all time favorites. I love it because none of the colors are hard to match or overly committing. In fact there aren't any colors that I can think of that scream an inability to go with black, white, and copper. Not to mention the fact that this set though simple, has a modern and trendy feel to it that isn't overwhelming. This means that the set is perfect for anyone that you know that loves bead jewelry.

The necklace is eighteen inches long, and the pendent is roughly 1.5 inches by 1 inch. Not terribly large. I have tried the necklace on in order to get a feel for how it might look on, in the event that I need to change something. Even on my small 4' 11" 85lb frame, the pendant doesn't feel big.

If you do know someone who might love a set like this, there is one and only one place that you can get it. That place is on Artfire.com. If you like you can follow this link right to its display page to check out other pictures of the pieces, or purchase it for whoever you might be thinking of.

Thanks, for reading my blog. I hope that it helped you with some last minute holiday shopping, and if not, I just hoped that you enjoyed it.

A Great Place To Sell Your Bead Jewelry

For those of you who don't recognize the name, Lindsay's Bead Boutique, let me start by introducing myself. My name is Lindsay, and I am in the process of trying to get my bead jewelry business off of the ground. I first started with the idea to start this business when my mom made the suggestion that I should do something I love. From there the ideas began to flow. She helped me come up with a name, design business cards, and come up with a plan.

I don't have a website up and running yet, and I had to find somewhere that I could sell my jewelry for little to nothing out of my pocket. That is when I stumbled on a site that is like Etsy, but so much better. This site allows you to list all of your home made products completely free from start to finish. You never have to pay a fee to sell your jewelry at this site. What is this amazing site you ask? It is called Artfire.

Artfire will allow you to list anything that you can make right from their website completely free. They will also submit your products right to the Google search engine. You can post as many 5 pictures under the free account and 10 pictures under the paid member account(which I will also go through in just a moment). You can customize your studio (what your customers will see), have a blog right there on Artfire, link to all of your networking sites, websites, and blogs, and you have access to so many other resources that you just don't have on any other site! When you look at the services that this site is already offering you without you having paid a single cent, it's hard to imagine how much better it could be to become a paid member.

Well as a paid member you have access to up to 10 pictures per product you sell, promo stickers (things like free shipping and BOGO) that go right onto your listing, You can become a member of different artisan groups that will further your exposure to those hunting for your product, and tons more.

Whether or not you decide to become a paid member, you can purchase different advertising options right on the Artfire website. Let's be honest, everyone is looking for somewhere that they can sell and buy products absolutely free, well Artfire allows you to connect just about all of your resources in one location. And in my opinion that makes it a great place to sell your bead jewelry.
